Description
My name is Deborah, I am a Registered General Nurse.
I grew up in a very close family.
From an early age I looked after grandparents who were living with us.
No one was surprised when I decided to go into nursing.
I would describe myself as caring, kind and empathic. I’m always prepared to go above and beyond.
I treat everyone that I look after as though they were my parents, brother or sister.
I have had a varied career.
I did my first ten years as a nurse in Switzerland. I became fluent in French.
I have worked as an oncology nurse, school nurse , prison nurse.
I have also worked as Cabin Crew for British Airways.
I did my Return To Practice in 2017.
I have worked in various hospitals and also in the community as a Parental Nutrition Nurse.
My most recent role was working as a Clinical Coach. This is something I am very passionate about.
Ensuring people get their follow up appointments with Specialists.
Educating people about their conditions.
This involved keeping people out of hospital and enabled people to stay in their own homes.
I am proud of the fact I am able to obtain GP appointments for Patients, friends and family where others seem to have failed. I have navigated the system for years.
I have in recent years looked after my mother-in-law, who had lost her leg.
During Covid I looked after my 95 year old neighbour.
He has now got his own Carers assisting to his needs.
I love looking after people and it comes just naturally.
The one thing I have learnt is always listen to the person you are looking after.
What you think is important to you, is not always important to them.
My ethos is, people are better cared for in their own home than any hospital and that is my biggest driver in doing what I do..
I look forward to be able to assist you with any care requirements you may need. I would be more than happy to speak on the phone or meet you in person to answer any questions you may have.
